Leo Terrell’s Challenge

It is, in essence what I heard Leo Terrell say on TV. It is not something I made up. He said it without any prompting, certainly no prompting by me. He doesn’t even know me. Sorry, can’t quote him verbatim. It is the problem of not having a DVR so I have to rely on my memory. Yet he basically asked if the Black men can name one thing the Democrats did for them in the last 3 years.

Terrell is the expert. He has the law degree. Moreover, he is in the position I’m not. He is Black. Though I can ask the question, I would not feel right. However, I can say this without hesitation. Old Joe and all his friends haven’t done a thing for me. Moreover, he has brought war to this world and a disaster to our economy. I assure you he did not do this alone. He has been following the ideas and the plans of the dems to the letter.

And if Kamala gets the chance, she will too. I say this because she is more of a liberal than Old Joe is. It’s easy to tell. It is what she said before she stepped in for Old Joe. She said she wanted taxes and she said she wants to abandon Israel. Now, of course, she says what she has to and plays the part exactly as she is told.

Then, if and when she gets in office, she will do the same as Old Joe, only more. If you think that means good stuff for the Black people, you really need to think again. Kamala is power hungry. She is and she was always was seeking the good of Kamala. If you doubt me, just study her past. Everything she has done has been for her benefit. Every thing she is doing is to gain power. Every thing she does in the future will be for Kamala.

She lies to the Blacks. She lies to the Hispanics and Latins. Truth of the matter is, she lies to herself. A lack of belief in what she says she believes, is the main reason she has such a hard time speaking without notes to the public. She has a hard time remembering her lies.

On the other hand, you know Trump is honest in his belief. He speaks, frequently without for hours without notes. It is very obvious that no one is pulling his strings. In fact, he has angered many rinos because he won’t let them control him. He is nobody’s puppet and when he speaks, he speaks his own words.

Will History Reveal the Truth?

Some have said that Pelosi was the instigator of the outing Old Joe. Others say it was Kamala. Still others say it was Obama & Company. Naturally, there are others that say it was a combination that was behind the coup d’état.

I don’t know. I don’t even have a good guess. For that matter, the puppeteer behind it all might not even be commonly known. Might be some really oddball behind the scene. I mean some of those folks sink a lot of money into these races and they really don’t like to lose, considering they’d get naught for their little bit of change.

Could it be that history will continue to hide the reality, as with the Kennedy assassination? On the other hand will someone raise their hand and say, “I did it. It was me.”

Regardless, no matter one way or the other, this election will be one to go down in the history books. It will likely be a while that a nominee will be selected without ever recording 1 vote. Kamala dropped out before any votes were taken.

Could it possibly be that she will manage to find her way to the White House without being the proper nominee? Could it be a result of her doing?

On the other hand, just maybe, hopefully, she will leave politics forever? If she loses, I can’t imagine she would ever run for anything again.

Don’t worry. She won’t starve. I am sure she will get retirement from her time in the Senate as well as her time as second in command. That will be pretty good for never doing anything.

The Forgotten President

I wish I could say I thought of that, but I got it from the Gutfield Show. However, I must say I agree. With all that is going on, it is very easy to forget who our president technically is. One thing that might contribute to that is that we didn’t see that much of him before. All he ever did was sign executive orders and go to his beach house.

Nonetheless, maybe we can use some other descriptions as accurate or more. For instance, the fading president. Let’s face it, it is very easy to imagine that by the time he leaves office, no one will notice. Little evidence will be left. When people ask what it was that caused so much destruction, people will look at each other and shake their heads. Then maybe one will say, “Some kind of major natural disaster I guess. Maybe a storm; maybe an earthquake.”

Then, someone else would say, “It must have been both.”

80,000 Year Comet

I keep hearing about it on the news. They say we can see it, but we won’t be able to see it for another 80,000 years. That is a long time. As I sit here, I try to think of a comparison. I can’t really think of any.

None the less, I think I’ll pass on looking for it. Astronomy was never one of my bigger interest. Besides, if I want to see it latter, it won’t be a problem. Jesus has promised me forever. That makes 80,000 years look short. Indeed I will be able to see it 80,000 times as it goes passing by.

My suggestion, if you are going to spend forever somewhere, you might want to make sure it is the right place. Nowadays, people so casually say things like, “See you in hell.”

First, there is no way I would want to spend one day in hell, certainly not 80,000 years, or forever. Secondly, if I am right, you’ll not see anyone in hell. Though there will be many there, part of the punishment is that it will be lonely. You won’t see the 80,000 year comet there. I suspect it will be so dark that you will see nothing. For God is light and hell will be a place without God and without light. If you go there, I don’t even think you will be able to see the stars.

Better that you accept Jesus as your savior and spend eternity in the light, in Heaven with Jesus.

Processing Food

Back in April 27, 2024, I wrote a post, “Define Processed.” In a small way, I would like to revisit. First let me briefly say that the woman I talked of defined grinding meat into hamburger as processing food, hence, no longer natural and nutritional.

Well, last night, I did some food processing. I took my last five eggs in my fridge and put them in a high speed blender for a minute. They puffed up to twice their size and I put them in an electric frying pan, in which they were processed for about one more minute.

I guess after all that processing, the food was not as good for me. However, my wife and I enjoyed them anyway. If that lady I saw on TV didn’t like the way I processed those eggs, it’s her problem. I like processed food. Really I do.

When you come right down to it, most cooks do process food. Much of it I really like. Some of it not so much. For instance I like raw carrots, spinach and cabbage. I don’t much care for them cooked. (Processed.)

I get it. Sometimes we do go overboard with it. Still, cheese, processed milk, has allowed us to store food without refrigeration. I really like most instant potatoes, which might serve as a survival food. Are not noodles processed food. And I really like spaghetti. Before I was married, half my dinners were frozen before I put them in the microwave. Mac & cheese used to be one of my staples until I became diabetic.

I would guess we could survive without processing food. However, it would be far more difficult and less tasty. Worse yet, more of it would go to waste.

Sports Verses Programing

As I was considering this post, it became apparent to me, I might be wrong. I have been a time or three. Regardless, as I see it I could use your help on this one. I will write two paragraphs. One the way I originally planned it, the other the way it might be right. Then again, it is possible, neither is right. I can’t imagine it, but I suppose in some weird way, they might both be right.

Let us consider, as I flipped through the channels to find something for my wife to watch, I could not find anything. There was nothing but football games, and then the baseball game after that. So, I came to the conclusion that the reason there is nothing to watch while the sports is on because they don’t want to put any of the good programming opposite the sports.

Then the thought occurred to me.

Maybe they put all the sports on all the stations because they have no good programming to put on. Maybe they can’t think of anything. So they put on the reruns and garbage programming they call situation comedy. I mean, no one needs to write or direct the the football games. All they need is a few good cameramen and someone to chose which picture to transmit. Oh yes. They need a couple of men and at least one woman to do the announcing. The way things are going, maybe all three will be women.

Now I await your opinion.

Real Inflation

If this year, I go out and buy a pound of all purpose flour and it cost 20% more than last year, then there was simply a 20% inflation. However, the government does not do things that way. One thing I have found, the government likes to twist things. First, they don’t make comparisons of the same thing from one time to the next. I don’t know how all they do it and I don’t really care.

I don’t go by their announcements of inflation from one year to the next. This is my index. I go by visits to the store. Last year, each time I went to the store, it cost me about $125. Now, each visit cost me about $225. By my calculations, that is not quite 100%. However, my buying has changed. We used to eat steak once or twice a month. We haven’t bought steak at the meat counter once this year.

I used to dream about a nice New York cut. Now, when I get to the meat counter, I just go flying by. I don’t even look. My eyes don’t even go in that direction. We used to go to a steak house once or twice a year. Now, never. That part of inflation cannot be measured.

My best guess, since Old Joe took over, the real inflation has been about 100%, maybe a bit more. Of course it has been spread over four years. The hitch is that it is not 25% per year. At 25% per year, it is more that 100%. Moreover, most of the inflation was in the first year. As election year has approached, they have done as the can to cut down on inflation. What inflation there is, they hide from us.

I’m not even going to try to do the math, but you and I know the real inflation. You and I know that we are not only paying twice as much but we are also buying 15 or 20% less.

The last time the the government made a release about the inflation they said it was something around 2.5% or so. I can’t remember the exact amount. It doesn’t make a whole lot of difference anyway. They just put all the numbers into their little magic formula and come out with any number they want.

However, let’s say it is 2.5%. Four years ago that would not have meant as much as now. However, now it is 2.5% of twice the price. That makes it the equivalent of 5% for the 3 year period.

Besides the fact, they are not likely including as much. Moreover, I don’t think they like to include what we really like to buy. Truth be told, it was more like 3%, which is the equivalent of 6%.

How does it feel to not be able to trust what the government, which expects you to believe it all?

A Common Religious Lie

If I heard it once, I heard it a hundred times that we are all children of God. I have even heard it from behind the pulpit. Either it is a lie or Jesus lied. I am going to believe Jesus.

When Jesus was being confronted by the pharisees, (John 8:40 to 48) He said that their father was the devil and that they did the will of the devil.

While all men and women are created by God, not all men chose to be his children. Instead they chose to follow Satan. When a person chooses to not follow God, then he follows Satan and Jesus, according to this passage, says that their father is the devil.

Only when a person accepts Jesus as his savior and master does a person become the child of God. Once a person becomes a child of God, that is permanent. It is irreversible. Argue with me if you like. First read the passage. Read what Jesus has to say on the matter. Read John 3:16 and 17. (Note, if eternal life might be reversed, then it is not eternal.)

A Stumble and a Fall

I don’t remember the year, but it was a while ago. I went to school in Syracuse on a large printer. The school was ten weeks, which was as long as any school I went to. It was the first time I had heard of someone called Jimmy Swaggart. In the parking lot of the hotel where I was staying were three big semis with his name and photo on the side of them. From that, I could tell he was a preacher, but I had no idea what church he represented or what he taught.

Some months later, I saw him preaching on TV. He seemed to be genuine. His words were right and certainly most of what he was teaching seemed to be legitimate. He certainly had a huge following. Still, I was reluctant to refer anyone to him. I don’t know, but something inside me told me to steer clear of him.

Years later, it became public that he was taking photos of prostitutes. It would see he stumbled and he fell, big time. It was on all the news and it would seem to be celebrated.

And so it is that men do such things everyday and worse. No one says anything. It is not on the news. If something does make the news, it is only a few words. It is only those who stumble and fall big time that get their name in print, and then only after the the fact. There was not much news about Swaggart before he fell. Indeed, he probably hardly rated a mention on the internet.

The world loves it when someone such as he stumbles and falls on his face with great embarrassment. Moreover, the accusations fly the instant someone stumbles at all, even if it is falsely reported. Those who stand behind the pulpit and preach, more so than all others much be particularly careful. The world is watching ready to pounce on them. The world loves it when they stumble. I have seen it over and over.

I suppose those that study human behavior have their theories. Maybe I can share a couple of mine. Certainly, right at the top, people say, “You see. He’s like everyone else so why should we believe him?” In a way, it gives the unbelievers a reason, an argument why they shouldn’t believe. It justifies their non-belief.

I do have a little different point of view. If what they are teaching is true, what benefit is it to anyone when he fails. Moreover, we all fail. Sin is an illness common to humans, no matter how many sermons they preach or no matter how accurate his message is.

If the best soldier in the platoon falls wounded, is that good? Do we want to stand over him and mock him. Well, preachers, the real preachers are soldiers in a way. They help fight evil and spread the plan of salvation. They are the leaders we should look to. Are we to laugh and mock those that fall flat on their face?

Maybe, as in the case of the soldier, we should help them up, provide help, and maybe bring them back to their feet.

If you are the type that takes pleasure in seeing the Godly stumble then fall, maybe it is time to take a good look at yourself. None of us are immune to such a thing.

The Bible says we are to look to Jesus Christ as our example. All humans are subject to failing us. There is a saying, never get to know your hero. They will always disappoint you. However, it is good to get to know Jesus. He never will never fail you no matter how well you get to know Him.

As for Jimmy Swaggart, his church refused to reinstate him. However, as near as I can tell, Swaggart’s pride would not allow himself to be subject to his church. I suspect the same might be said about his willingness to follow the instructions of God himself. He has decided to separate himself from his church and go out on his own.

Every now and then, I hear of him. However, if he is being a soldier for God, it is nowhere near as before. He has nowhere near the following. I say this not to belittle him all the more but to point out the problems of stumbling and falling, especially for the ones who are most followed.

As an aside, when someone does fall like that, maybe they were never an anointed leader in the first place. It might have all been a big show. Some have big egos, you know. They love the attention and they love the money. The Bible calls them false prophets. If Swaggart was a false prophet, then he never never had far to fall in the first place.

Cement?

This is sort of a continuation of “Cars and Pickups.” The wife and I went to Abbay’s Restaurant yesterday and had a wonderful meal of country fried steak. On the way out, we encountered a guy with a very nice big gray truck. I told him, Nice truck. My sons call that dress gray.”

He smiled and said that that it was officially called cement. Now I must admit that one caught me by surprise. I wonder who came up with that name. It makes me wonder if he is looking for job today.

Well, maybe I am the one in the wrong. After all, that truck was sold. Still, I am wondering if the name of the paint was part of the reason. Now tell me please, would you want to have a nice looking truck with the color name of cement?
