School Selection

Let’s look at a simple hypothetic situation. There are ten public schools in your city. Being as it is hypothetic, let’s say your child is a son. Moreover, he has just been assigned to the worst school, or even the second worst one.

Now would you like that. Let’s go one step farther and say your son is assigned to the worst teacher in the school for his grade.

Now do you suppose maybe you’d start raising a complaint or three? I don’t know. It’s why I am asking. All the time such things happen and few if any parents complain. We have teachers in our schools who are not teaching their students to read and write.

It does make me wonder, who is teaching the teachers. When I was in the Marines, I taught for 3 years. If I had a record like that, I would not have been teaching long. If I couldn’t teach, I would have never started in the first place. Too much depends on it. Do we want marines working on equipment that know not what they are doing?

Reading and writing are the most important things our children learn in school, and they aren’t teaching them, regardless of the rhyme or reason.

And still, the dems dig their feet deep in the earth and refuse to allow monies to go to private schools. Some say it would cause harm to the public schools. Well, I say fine. If they are not doing even the basic job, this in spite of being better financed than any other county on the planet, maybe it’s time for us to allow the current system fade off into obscurity. I mean, what good are they doing our children now. Looks to me as if we are just tossing all that funding down the tube. And it would seem all of our children are being sent to the worst schools in the system and I don’t understand how that can be. Even more, I don’t see folks complaining so much.
