Consider Me a Little Disappointed With Nissan

A little over a year ago, when I bought my EV, I was led to believe I could charge my car at the dealership or the Tesla chargers across the street. Almost immediately they started remodeling the dealership and have not gotten a working charger since. The Tesla power cables are too short, which leaves me with just my 110volt at home.

Normally, this is just a small problem but problems have arisen and I need the fast charger for a while. Needless-to-say, I am disappointed. My guess is that there are others who have the same complaint.

Somehow, Oddly, Interesting

For three years, my wife was required to carry insurance by law by Obama Care for just under $1000 a month. One of those years, Humana was the carrier. They collected just shy of 12 thousand from us and did not pay one part of one claim and dropped us.

One of those years it was with Ambetter, which was not accepted but by a few doctors in the area. However, it was the only choice available. Again we paid them close to 12 grand and we had not one part of one claim. Again, after one year, they dropped us.

Now, I notice they are doing a whole lot of advertising. I guess. Why not after all they collected from us and those like us? I mean, they likely really built up their stash on us and other folks like us.

I noticed too that Humana is sending me emails, ads. Do you think I am paying them any attention? Nope! I don’t even read them. As soon as I see them, they disappear. Don’t need them. Won’t ever need them or Ambetter again.

The Road to Happiness

In a few days, I will be 77 and I have learned a thing or two about how to achieve happiness.

a) First, it is a scientific fact that it is impossible to bring happiness to others without bringing twice the happiness to yourself. Incidentally, I have also verified this by personal experience. So, whenever you get a chance, bring happiness to others and you will bring happiness to yourself.

b) Secondly, risk bringing a smile or even a laugh to others. In the modern civilization, this has become risky in that people might think you strange. Nonetheless, when you make someone else smile, or even laugh, you will find it difficult to avoid doing the same. Caution: bear in mind that some people will resist being happy at any cost and might actually scowl.

c) Be grateful and be quick to show your appreciation.

d) Be quick with compliments. This one can get you in trouble in this modern world. Some people might take this one the wrong way. I have had this happen to me many times. I have found the indirect approach far safer. Complement them on a vehicle. For me, that has always worked.

e) Finally, and most important. There is no way a person can truly be happy unless he is right with God. It is really where it all starts. Accept Jesus as your Lord and savior and the above becomes more natural. The happiness becomes greater and more permanent. It is the way it works because it is the way He designed us.

Is it Lack of Control or the Desire

I would suspect there of other reasons that people use profanity. However I would suspect that the above two reasons sum it up for most part. Indeed, if a person cannot control his tongue, it is probable he cannot control his life either.

On the other hand, there are those that use profanity intentionally. It helps their ego. They think it adds authority to commands or instructions. When calling attention to another persons faults, they think that it helps add emphasis. .The stronger the profanity, the more of them that are strung together, the louder the words, the more emphatic.

Jesus, when he was told that some people were not washing their hands before eating, said that it is not what goes into a man’s mouth that defiles him, but what comes out. With these few words, He tells us that a man defiles himself when he uses profanity, regardless of the reason. By implication the Bible says that when filth pours out of a man’s mouth, then it tells us that what is in his heart is filthy too.

Some lack control. Some do it for their ego. Some use it to profane God’s name. Some do it on purpose and then act as if it was a moment of weakness. To God, it is all worse than not washing our hands.

Because it has it has become so commonplace, people think it’s okay. Fact is, that makes it all the worse.

Is it Persistence, or Insanity

Ten minutes after the results of the pres. election, Kamala and her band of dems are back at it. In effect, they are saying, Silly voters. Don’t you know better. You are voting for the wrong guy. That Orange man is no good. You should have voted for Kamal, Well, we’ll get him next time…. this while saying for the last three months that Orange man will make sure this is the last election. Tat there will be no more.

The fact is they are figuratively beating there heads against that blue wall, which they say they have and they are expecting a different result. I guess if the succeed, it is persistence. At this point, I get the idea it’s more like insanity.

Figure it this way, their idea was to push open borders and call them closed; call inflation just temporary; permit at least 2 major wars…encouraging the attacks against Israel; encouraging children to have their gender changed, you know, just to show they can; encouraging the defunding of police; and destroying the schools system all over the nation. And oh yes, sending car manufacturing jobs from Detroit to Mexico and China and all over the world.

If they had decided to back off just one of the above. Old Joe might have won, but not Kamala. For her they would have had to back off three of them. However, shoving all those things down the gullets of American voters all at once they just refuse to swallow.

So the question of the dems is this. Do they back off 3 or 4 of their pet projects or do they continue to look like robots that are programed to bump into walls?

My guess is that they don’t let go of even one, no matter how objectionable it might be. The reason is simple. They know if they let go of even one, that segment of the party will object and the party will start fracturing as it did with the Jews and Palestinians. Splinters will fly everywhere and there goes that wonderful powerbase they spent the last 35 years building up.

And so it is that they will try to make us all swallow all at once, while trying to convince us all that it is for our own good.

That, I call lunacy.

Listening and Talking

In a general since, people have been suggesting the reason the dems lost the presidency as well as so many other races is because they didn’t listen to the voters. Certainly, I must agree with them, but it doesn’t stop there.

To a major degree they didn’t even speak to the voters. Kamala especially refused to say anything that she would do. Then on the other hand, had she said what she planned to do, I suspect it would come out even worse for it.

Also, they came out with instructions. They told the Blacks and the Hispanic that they better vote democrat. They told the union workers to vote democrat. Moreover, they were trying to tell everyone what to think, what to send in messages and such. They said, you better watch what you say or we will come after you.

Maybe Black people were tired of voting democrat and yet being treated as step-children. Maybe the union people were tire of voting democrat and seeing all their high paying jobs find their way into Mexico & China. Maybe they were starting to say among themselves we don’t need that anymore.

On a somewhat related note: Many say that Kamala would have done much better had she had 150 days to run her campaign. Actually, it was quite the opposite. Every day of the campaign Kamala’s numbers went down. Had she had 50 more days, she would have done far worse. It would have given the voters more time to realize just how bad of a president she would make. Where this would be most notable would have been in early in voting. Had people who voted early the first chance the got, they would have had a better look at Kamala. They might have even voted for Trump.

On the other hand, if it was 50 days less, Kamala might have benefited from not being so well known.

Tons of Green not Enough to Turn Texas Blue

From what I understand, half a billion dollars was sent in to Texas in an effort to turn the state blue. It didn’t work. It’s not only still red but they also still have one of the best senators of the country. They said it would be close. I don’t know who “they” are but they just wasted half a billion dollars. Also it wasn’t close. Even though I find it horribly unethical, in this case, I sort of like the outcome.

“They” also said they would replace Scott as Senator in Florida. Not close. Last I looked, nearly 3/4 of the vote went to Scott. The dems that backed that endeavor likely didn’t like that outcome. They might want to start investing their political funds somewhere else.

I voted about 3:00 It was in the midst of a rainstorm. I got a little wet but I was the first in line. The rain stopped just before I left and there were dozens of more voters coming in. I guess we can call them fair-weather voters.

The polls closed at 7 PM and I saw the results of the vote of Mississippi about 3 or 4 minutes after 7. Why can’t other states do that. Well, there are a few others. Alabama beat Mississippi by about 10 seconds.

One thing I have found both alarming and confusing. There are dems coming from the north into Desoto and bringing their voting habits with them. I would assume that is where they are coming from. Memphis is about the only city around here where there are an abundance of dems.

The confusing part is, if they like democrat leaders, why not stay in Memphis?

Well, maybe I do have an idea. In Shelby county, they have bad schools. In Shelby county they have to wait sometimes for days to get car tags. Desoto schools are pretty good… far better than Shelby County. Last three times I renewed my car tag, it took about 3 minutes. If I thought it over a while, I am sure I can think of several other things, you know, the stuff dems don’t do well that Republicans do.

One more thing. Harald Ford Jr. was on Fox today and said something I agree with, something I seldom do. What he said was that the dems are not the only ones who can learn a lessen from this election. There were many Republicans that lost too. My only notation, it is the ones Rush Limbaugh called the country club Republicans. They are those that most of us call rinos. They just might want to reconsider their stance on things like, you know, the border.

Sometimes, I Wish the Bible Spoke More Plainly

Since my teens, I knew that God spoke against astrology. I’m not going to argue the point. God makes it very clear in a number places in the Bible. As I read, I saw them. I cannot call them out right now other than Daniel condemned the King of Babylon for following stargazers. Naturally, that is in Daniel.

I was well into adulthood when I saw something that floored me. Truly, I can only speculate. While archeologist were digging around the Temple, they discovered a copy of what appeared to be the astrological signs, arranged in a circle, right out in the middle of one of the porches.

I can’t explain that and I will not try. However, God is very clear. We are to go to Him and his Word for wisdom and not the stars. It does appear to be a very stark contradiction. Of course, in a year or two, I’ll know. For now, however, I’m going to have to plead ignorance.

Maybe, possibly, I can bring a small amount of light if I am allowed a wild guess. Bear in mind, it is just a guess. First, in Genesis, God tells us that He gave us the constellations as guide to tell when to plant and when to harvest; a sign for the seasons. I suspect that it is something that has followed mankind through history. It would also make it easy to turn the constellations into gods or messages from gods. How easy it is to start worshiping the created instead of the creator.

Nonetheless, God did provide them for guidance. They were gifts from God, not gods.

I found another interesting fact. Each of the twelve tribes of Israel had it’s its own flag, standard which God told them to carry before the tribe whenever they moved from one place to another. I think you will find that in Exodus, though I am not sure.

Try as I might, I could not find what was on each of the flags. It has caused me a little curiosity. It is one of those questions I will have for God, though I really wished he’d tell me sooner.

Now, this is where I go out on a limb, maybe the proverbial plank. I hope God will forgive me for a little conjecture, but it does fit. The flags might have each had a constellation on it. It makes sense, but, as I said, it is a guess. If each constellation represented one of the tribes, twelve in all, it would not at all be remarkable to find the constellations to be on the porch. It would in no way imply that they were used for worship or guidance.

If wrong, then you will have to wait like me. That is, unless those archeologists find something else that explains it, like maybe those banners.

FBI Security For Voting

Several times lately I heard that the FBI would be providing security for voters and poling places. It sounds like a good idea. I like it. I’m glad they are doing it, provided they do it properly and even handedly.

My question is, where was the FBI security during the election of 2008 when Black Panthers stood at poling places carrying night sticks and intimidated white people?

In case you don’t believe it, I can post photos.
