Long, Long Ago

My wife bought me a laptop computer a while ago. We couldn’t afford it and I really didn’t have a use in the world for it. I remember it well. It had a 486sx processor and a 7 inch screen.

I sat down in front of this mighty midget. I had no Windows operating system but I did have a cheap word processor. So I started it up and started on my first book.

I thought it was great. I had no hopes of a million seller, but I just knew it would do well.

Things don’t always work out the way you hope. Certainly, in this case, it didn’t. What a let down. What a disappointment. What a disaster.

At the time, I was afraid of what people would think of me or about me. I guess I was right. After decades of editing the book, it’s still not so great, though many have read it. Those that have read it like the content, but I am still finding grammar mistakes, simple ones.

Still I am glad I made the decision. Even if I have no million sellers. I found out, I like to write. I mean I really like to write.

And so I continued to write and write. I now have over 35 books that you can read on Amazon. I have a list of them on my home page. I occasionally hand out books to people I meet. who knows, one just might make it to a Hollywood producer. Many have told me they would make good movies.

In the meantime, as long as my mind holds up, I’ll keep turning out words, whether people read them or not. Also, regardless what people think of me.
