Truth is, I have been in a number of countries outside the US and I don’t like any of them as good as here. Japan is quite an experience and the people are just as friendly as they can be. But, quite frankly, we don’t speak the same language and it is quite difficult driving on the wrong side of the street.
The Aussies are really friendly and the streets are so clean you can eat off them. They do speak the English language but in a funny way, however I just really don’t like their milkshakes. They are mostly air. By the way, they too, drive on the wrong side of the streets. It’s uneasy, even as a pedestrian. It is very difficult looking to the right as I stepped off the curb.
I met a marine captain going to the Soviet Union once. Asked him why in the world he wanted to go there. I certainly have no desire to go there. The weather is horrible. By the way, they will throw you in prison without a reason. Actually, it is getting to be that way here too.
Would not want to go to China. They like to throw folks in jail too. Worse, the smog makes it difficult to breath. I know. I spent a year in Los Angeles before they cleaned up things out there. It makes your eyes burn and water and causes pain in your lungs as you breathe. From what I’m told, it killed a few in London before they figured out some way to clean up the air there. None the less, I am afraid of their health care system there. I’m afraid they might decide it’s not worth the money to patch up a bloke over 75, that is unless he is a member of parliament.
I don’t parler Français too well, so France is out. It gets too cold in Germany and Switzerland.
I think I’ll just stay in the states. As I said before, don’t like the cold. Arabia is out too. Don’t like the hot.
